Tension Free Zone

Terms and Conditions for Using Tension Free Zone

These terms govern your use of Tension Free Zone. The platform operates entirely in your browser with no accounts required. By using the site, you agree to the following terms.

The agreement

By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, the honest position is that you should not use the site, because there is no version of the tools that runs under different terms, they are the same static files for everyone.

What the service is

Tension Free Zone is a client-side software platform delivered as a web application. All processing occurs in your browser using advanced web technologies including WebAssembly, the File System Access API, and complex state management systems. No data is transmitted to external servers.

The platform is provided as-is with no uptime guarantees, service level agreements, or support contracts. We may update, modify, or discontinue any feature at any time without notice.

What you may do

Use the tools for anything lawful, personally or commercially, without asking and without paying. Documents the tools produce, a merged PDF, an invoice, a formatted citation, a resume, a compressed photograph, are yours, carry no watermark and no attribution requirement, and can be used, edited and sold however you like.

Files you export contain no branding added by the site, no tracking code, and no reference back to this domain unless you typed one in yourself.

What you may not do

  • Use the site to break the law, or to produce documents that misrepresent someone, a fabricated invoice presented as real, a credential listed as held when it is not, a citation attributed to a paper that does not say what it is quoted for.
  • Attack, overload or probe the site or the host serving it, or use automated requests at a volume that degrades it for other people.
  • Republish the site as your own product, or resell access to it. Linking to it, teaching with it and building on the results of its tools are all fine; passing it off as yours is not.
  • Present the tools as professional advice. They are calculators, and the next section is the reason that distinction is in these terms rather than hidden in a footer.

Your files are yours, and we have none of them

No licence is taken over anything you put into a tool. That is not a promise to be trusted on: nothing is uploaded, so there is nothing to license. The only copies that exist are the ones in your browser and the ones you exported, which is also why the site cannot recover work you have lost.

You are responsible for having the right to the material you process. Running someone else's confidential document through a PDF tool is a decision you made about their document, not one the site made.

Check anything you intend to rely on

Every tool here computes from rules, and rules vary by place and change over time. The calculation is worth checking before it becomes something you submit, file or send.

  • Grades and CGPA, institutions differ on how a letter grade maps to a point value, on whether a retake replaces or averages, and on how many credit hours a course is worth. Use your own handbook's table with the calculator set to match it.
  • Attendance, minimum thresholds and what counts as a sanctioned absence are set by your department, not by this site. The tool applies the rule you give it.
  • Citations, the styles follow their published specifications, including the revisions that make a style differ between editions. Check the entry against the version your department requires before a submission.
  • Money, budgets, loan schedules, EMI amounts, compound interest and SIP projections are arithmetic on the figures you enter. They ignore fees, taxes, rate changes and rounding used by a particular lender, and none of it is financial advice.
  • Invoices, tax labels, rates, registration numbers and required wording are set by the jurisdiction you invoice in. The tool formats what you tell it; it does not know your rules.
  • Deadlines and dates, countdowns read your device's clock and your device's time zone. A wrong clock produces a confidently wrong number.

The documents you produce are your responsibility

The resume builder, invoice maker and citation tools format and lay out material you supply. Whatever those documents claim is claimed by you. Submitting a resume means the details on it are yours to defend, and issuing an invoice means the amounts and tax handling on it are yours to get right.

Third-party services

The site loads web fonts from Google Fonts. If a measurement tag is configured, an analytics service receives aggregate page and tool counts. There is no other third party involved, and neither of those services receives your documents or the content you type. If that list grows, the privacy page will say so.

Availability and changes

Tension Free Zone may be updated, modified, or discontinued at any time without notice. Since all data is stored locally in your browser, we recommend maintaining regular backups of any important work.

Limits of liability

The tools are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, whoever operates the site is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from its use, a deadline missed, a submission rejected, a document formatted in a way a recipient did not accept.

One consequence deserves to be spelled out rather than left to a clause, because it is the most likely way this site could cost you something: if you clear your browser data without a backup, or if your storage is cleared by your browser or your device, your saved work cannot be recovered by anyone. That is the price of storing nothing on a server, and it is why the backup feature exists.

Where a dispute would be handled

The site is run by an individual rather than a company with a legal department. If something goes wrong, raise it first through the contact page; nearly everything is faster to fix than to argue about. If it cannot be resolved that way, the law that applies is the law of the operator's place of establishment, and not the law of a place chosen to make a claim harder to bring.

Changes to these terms

These terms change when the service changes. The date under the title is updated in the same edit that changes the wording, so the two can never be out of step. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the version published at that moment.
